NLC Energy Dry Ice offers the highest grade of dry ice available and is the only company producing truly carbon-negative dry ice in the nation. We are a division of NLC Energy, a company focused on innovation to harvest value from waste.

NLC Energy develops, owns and operates biodigesters, which process waste through anaerobic digestion, the bacterial metabolization of organic matter in the absence of oxygen.  Food and farm waste are diverted from landfills, where they would typically release greenhouse gases methane and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  The waste is brought to our plants where its gasses are captured, purified and compressed - methane, for use as renewable natural gas, and liquid carbon dioxide for use as dry ice.

NLC Energy began as an outgrowth of a real estate investment firm, Net Lease Capital, which offered venture capital to biodigester projects.  NLC Energy formed in 2020 when it took over operations for three nonfunctioning digesters and began an ambitious plan to overhaul their operations, introducing expertise in science, engineering, and operations, to turn around the failed plants.

Today, our Denmark plant is one of the most successful biodigesters in the country, with the uncommon capability of processing both manure and food waste.  Purity levels at 99.9% far exceed industry standards.

We have a vision for a sustainable, circular economy where waste is broadly repurposed for economic value and for the betterment of our world.  We aren’t waiting.  We are doing it today.
